How soon can I have a functioning website?

There are a couple details that might take 1-2 weeks to set into place. The skeleton can be in-place within a short time, and then published. Adding content is a process but does not take forever, and publishing new things can be done in a short time.

Is this in-person 1:1 lesson or a in-person group lesson?

Each lesson may have 1 or more students, depending on registration. In any case, custom assistance is available during each lesson.

Are online zoom lessons available? 

Live in-person workshop lessons will not have additional filming or zoom access. Zoom lessons are available afterwards for makeups or additional attention. However these lessons will need to be scheduled until after the 4th in-person lesson in order to have some understanding of technical content.

What if I have more questions or am confused?

If students have questions on any website content or procedure, they can bring them to the class. In the workshop, I can answer questions as well as point to where the internet addresses those questions. There is tons of info and resources online about WordPress, of course.

Requirements:

  • Basic English speaking/reading/listening skills
  • No coding background needed, but technical understanding is important
  • Ideas and plans that you want to put on the site
  • Laptop that accesses the web
  • Purchase your own domain name (.com or .jp)

Fees:

Workshop lesson of 90 minutes = $150 for each lesson

Additional Fees:

$25/month (required) for my hosting and maintenance, as long as desired in future

$5/month (optional) for backups and maintenance 

$25/month (optional) for SEO Search Engine Optimization boost

Can AI make the entire website?

AI can help give you information, but won’t create your site. AI gives options for decisions, and to help consider other elements involved. You can act on each option until the desired solutions are reached.

Can the website have hand-coded content?
Yes, it is possible to customize the website with code, especially for small uses. WordPress can be easily used without any custom code, but it supports its usage.

What is the process for getting my own domain name?

In essence, there is a process for setting up a domain on a server, requiring I recommend students get a domain name (only) from Godaddy.com, and then following the steps to set the domain on my server. 

What happens to my site if I move back to Japan or want different hosting?

Yes that is possible to have your website in Japan and transferred.

Transfer Fees:

In case the student is to move back to Japan or would like change hosting, it is possible to transfer out. Fees will incur covering the time required of a couple hours to export files, do setup details, and exchange hosting. I can continue to host as long as needed in the future if no transfer is needed.

WordPress is written in the PHP programming language and paired with a MySQL database. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, known as “themes”.
